Powerful resource for those inevitable difficult times

“The Pendulum is not a thick book. However, the amount of information and resources that Pastor Rickie D Rush poured into those few pages is incredible. He shares a part of his testimony that sets the stage for us to recognize right away that this is a man who has credibility to teach how to swing through difficult times. “The Pendulum” is a powerhouse of information.
The author covers some very tough topics including why do Christians go through tough times, what should our response be, and why it is important not to be discouraged or feel guilty when difficult times happen. Each topic is addressed with compassion and encouragement not to give up.
My favorite part of the book is how each chapter is concluded. Pastor Rush ended each chapter with “what I really want you to remember”, prayer, scripture meditation, a video link, and special quotes. That allowed me the opportunity to read the book without feeling I had to take notes to remember everything. It was incredibly helpful in trying to absorb all the information provided. No one is immune from tough times. Therefore, I think this book would be helpful to anyone and especially is a great resource to have on hand for when those difficult times do strike. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Pendulum by Rickie Rush is an interesting book that got my attention and as well as it got me to thinking. Everyone seems to think that once/if you’re a Christian then life is filled with unicorns and pixie dust. How I wish that were true, but it isn’t. Christian deal with all the same life issues, the same difficult times that everyone else does. We have all the same triumphs and tragedies. And just like everyone else, sometimes we just don’t know how to get back up and fight.
However, in this book, the author shows us the qualities and traits of those that do get up, that do fight back in the difficult seasons. Those that know who and what they are fighting against.
I especially enjoyed reading this book. I found myself and my story on more than one page. This is a book that I will require a second look in the coming year.
