In "Power for Living" T. D. Jakes introduces the reader to basic concepts and principles for discovering purpose and power through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Penetrating messages provide specific guidelines for: Receiving answered prayer, finding focus while seeking God, and the power to live your dreams. Bishop Jakes emphasizes the importance of having an open dialog with God: by asking questions, through a diligent search for truth, and by seeking His favor. Touching stories which address an inner focus on the soul translate into compassion, self examination, conviction, and confession.
Each chapter includes a feature "Power Points for Living" which is made up of suggested exercises for reflection, journaling, or specific actions to be taken for embracing power for living.
In Part II of the book Bishop Jakes includes 30 power principles designed as devotionals to equip the reader to face the challenges of the day with an inspiring scripture passage to provide both wisdom for decisions and comfort in hardship.
