Is There A Battle?

I am a Christian Counselor at our County Jail and I returned home last week with the feeling that I just hadn't done everything that I needed to do for an inmate. He had several strongholds that he was dealing with and they had put him in jail more than once. How do you deal with a stronghold of stealing that happens over and over again? I bound the devil from his life and did everything I knew to do, but still I was not satisfied that I had really helped him. Later that week I read the chapter in the book called "Is There A Battle?" It provided the information I needed to help this man get rid of the strongholds that he wants so desperately to overcome. He was so ashamed of himself.
The author says that "A stronghold is a habitual sin or area of your life that seems to be caught in a cycle of ungodliness. Strongholds introduce shame, especially in someone who does not experience God's power to overcome the stronghold." If you have that type of a problem in your life I believe that this book could help you.

A Must Read for Healing

The concepts in this book have changed my life personally and professionally! I no longer spend my days trying not to sin but focus on the beauty of God and all that He has for me! I work as a clinical psychologist with many clients who struggle with identity issues leading to negative thinking which leads to feelings of anxiety and depression. The concepts of this book have helped numerous clients change the way they see themselves and the way they present themselves to others. When an individual begins to believe Truth, it is life changing! I've experienced it personally and have witnessed this process in others! I highly recommend this book for any believer.

A must read for a closer walk with Jesus.

Of course the Bible is the first "must read" but this book really brings to light the much needed message of our positional relationship with the Lord. We live in a world with so many mixed messages and focuses that sometimes we just need to get back to a firm foundation of who we are and what it all is about to maintain our compass heading. I had a hard time getting through this book though because my husband made off with it and would not give it back for a long time. Having grown up the church (I did not), he constantly struggled with insecurity and guilt in his relationship with God. The book really brought him comfort in his quest to have a more free and restful relationship with the one who loves him the most....Jesus. For me it was more of a conformation of what the Lord has worked into me in our walk together. I wish all believers would read this book and even some non-believers too so that they would see the truth of what is waiting for them if they decide to walk with Him also.
