About the Author
Sue Curran and her husband, John, are co-founders and pastors of Shekinah Church in Blountville, Tennessee. She earned a Doctorate of Divinity degree at Christian Life School of Theology and is an adjunct professor for Christian Life Educators Network. She is the author of several books, including Prayer in Another Dimension, I Saw Satan Fall Like Lightning, and The Forgiving Church. Her ministry extends worldwide and crosses cultural and ethnic boundaries.

Prayer principles that will revolutionize your life and ministry

Define Your Destiny Through Prayer: Your Journey to Divine Revelation. If you want to know what dedication to a life of prayer is like ask Dr. Sue Curran. God's hand and heart moved strongly on her from the time she got saved as a youth minister from a Methodist church. Her journey was unique, as was her courage to step out and attempt things that, to many would not make sense or be feasible to do. The main ingredient that propelled her to take on the seemingly impossible, and that today continues to move her ministry that reaches worldwide, is prayer. Dr. Curran has learned, and carefully lays out in her book, the value of placing top priority on prayer and becoming intimate with the Lord. God proved faithful to her time after time and continues to lead her step by step in every circumstance she faces in her life and ministry.
I realized while reading this book why so few attain to the level of greatness they may have stored deep inside them. Many are not willing to pay the price nor are they hungry enough to press into God wholeheartedly. The ordinary vs extraordinary is not always due to the talents we possess but often what God feels He can entrust us with. Dr. Curran encourages us with this: "When you become aware of how much Jesus loves you, and desires to commune with you, it will not be difficult to devote time alone to be with Him. If you don't develop a prayer life your Christian life will suffer a sense of powerlessness.". From the beginning God powerfully used her in revivals as she depended on the Holy Spirit for direction. This too is a testament that the number of years in ministry is not as important as a heart that desires after the things of God. God can raise you up out of obscurity and quickly work wonderfully through you.
God instructed her to build what now has been Shekinah Church for over forty years and the grounds have faithfully served as a Bible College and K-12 academy. When God calls you to an assignment He equips you and often sends others your way in the fulfillment of the dream. Dr. Curran will boast today, and yes, let her, of the fact that many were faithful in the infancy stage of the ministry to not only give of their resources, but of their labors of love and often without pay.
Revival broke out at her church and lasted for 3 months because of a determination to pray throughout the day. Her advice to those that feel awkward in prayer is to pray in tongues, allowing the Holy Spirit to stir your inner man. You also will learn the hinderances to corporate prayer. Dr. Curran has governed her life on obediently being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. I will end with her quote that encompasses her life and her desires for all that sit under her ministry and read this book. "Seeking to find God anywhere He is moving in power has been a part of my modus operandi throughout four decades of ministry. I am a student of the Holy Spirit; He is my Teacher. I will always seek to learn His ways wherever He is moving in the lives of people supernaturally."

I loved reading this book. It was really good. As i read this book it felt like something was stirred inside of me and i could not wait to spend time with God and enjoy intimacy with him through prayer. I was definitely provoked to holy jealousy I loved what God did in this woman's life and i can't wait to have more fun with God in prayer. As you read this book you are encouraged to develop a more intimate relationship with the lord and an amazing beautiful prayer life with God.

This book is outstanding. This is truly a demonstration of God's power, His faithfulness and a manual to be led by the Holy Spirit through prayer. Sue Curran teaches you how to pray effectively, to step up a new level of praise and worship, how to have a deep intimacy relationship with God and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. She reveals that the Holy Spirit will instruct you, teach you, and will pray through you the will of God. Also how the Holy Spirit is here to help us and guide you in all truth. That's awesome. This book will make a major shift your prayer time with God. I really like the stories about the revivals but the whole book is powerful and every Christian needs to read this.
In each of the chapters have brief quotes of wisdom on prayer from powerful Christians leaders. At the end of the book have three sections: Appendix A "Biblical Praise Expressions"(Seven Hebrew Words for Praise), Appendix B "Hindrances To Corporate Prayer", Appendix C "The Seven Offices of the Holy Spirit"( The seven functions and names of the Holy spirit)and Lastly Appendix D "Great Awakenings In Our Nation". It's truly a keeper and a good reference book about prayer and learning how to walk with the Holy Spirit. My review is on the free eBook that was given to me by the publisher.
