I'm an adult and I learned alot from this book

I got this book thinking that it might help me talk to my niece about the extremely tight short shorts and tight low cut tops that she wears. In doing so, I learned about things I was doing that I wasn't aware of that sends the wrong signals to men.
The reason I gave the four stars is due to the way that the book is written. It's disjointed and the author tends to repeat the same information.

Shedding light on lust

I think the author does a great job of providing compelling stories, biblical scriptures, and reasoning as to why modesty is what God wants for us. It is an easy read, entertaining, and educational. The book is written for a female audience, but the book can also apply to a male audience. Pastor Daugherty has a homophobic and transphobic agenda in her book, refer to Chapter 11. She cites Leviticus to denounce homosexuality but fails to mention that Christians no longer follow the Holiness Code. She definitely picks and chooses when convenient for her and she is not loving to gays, lesbians, and transgender people. She condemns a man she knew for leaving her church, but he left because she explicitly told him that he needed to repent and turn away from the sins of homosexuality. The man transitioned into a woman and when Pastor Daugherty bumped into her, she told her that she would always be male no matter what she did. Bottom line, the female was happy with her self-acceptance and told Daugherty she was engaged, but Daugherty did everything she could to rain on her parade. That is very disrespectful, unloving, and judgmental. Pastor Daugherty condones conversion therapy and concludes that chapter by predicting eternal damnation to gays for embracing an honest identity with themselves and God. As critical as Pastor Daugherty is, I think that her intentions are good on the subject of lust, modesty, and union with God. Unfortunately she steers into the topic of homosexuality and transgender issues out of the blue, which come across as intolerant and hateful. If you are wanting to expand your understanding of lust and modesty from a biblical perspective, do read this book. If you are gay and are confident in the way God made you, read the book and skip chapter 11. Take what you like and leave the rest.

Very well presented

A thorough, simple read for parents and children alike. Looking forward to sharing this with my 3 Girls and also some parts with my 2 Boys.
Biblical references and logical explanations that are easily understood by young minds, make this a solid book on modesty.
Thanks to the Authors for caring enough to address this issue.
