Experiencing the Revelation with the Apostle John

Gifted story teller, Elmer L. Towns, uses his creative imagination to draw the reader into this incredible narrative. From a small dark cave on the isle of Patmos, the Apostle John offers hope and encouragement to those imprisoned, persecuted Christians, suffering with him. He uses vivid word pictures to describe the historical background, and geography of the times. Over ninety years old, frail, and suffering John the Revelator is looking for the imminent return of his beloved Lord.
By paraphrasing John's writing using the second person pronoun, Towns has provided a freshness and clarity to the passages that give the reader a new perspective on the drama and intricate symbolism of the book of Revelation.
Towns brings a new boldness, focus and an amazing depth to his writing, after enduring the pain and suffering of cancer recovery. This experience allows Towns to identify with the Apostle John from a unique personal perspective. Drawing from his own experience Towns identifies with the Apostle John. He knows what it means to long to see his Savior face to face.

Praying and Worshiping

This is a very different type of book on praying the scriptures. A lot of people do not like to read the book of Revelation, but this book will truly help you to understand the book a lot better.
I really enjoyed reading and praying the book of Revelation. It was really easy reading and easy understanding. This author has other books similiar to this one, and I enjoyed them also. He has another one coming soon (Praying the Gospels) and I can't wait to read it.
God does make a way for us to understand the scriptures, and we must take the time to read and meditate on his Word. He gives us great books like this one to help our understanding.

Excellent Prayer Tool

Praying the Revelations is such a great prayer tool. I really love how the author tells the story of Johns life at the time of the writing. The details really give you a great picture of what the time and setting were for the writing of this great book. I am purchasing all of the books in the series. I began with Praying the Psalms and loved it so much I came back for the others.
