For those who don't want to read lengthy books the journal provides great messages to begin or end each day. The journal also has lines for note taking. A book I plan to read over and over

Over my lifetime I have read books that having read them once, I know I can read it over and over and still see something that I had missed. There are books I have read over 20 times that had nowhere near the amount of valuable information that this book has.
My favorite section was when the prophet asks Randy why God hates idolatry? The answer, that we are the pinnacle of God's creation, that only He is higher than we are, that when we idolize something/someone, we take something lesser than we are and elevate it above ourselves, thereby diminishing God's masterpiece - us, was so profound that I went into immediate repentance to God and asked him to search me and remove any idols from my life. God is not only jealous for His name- He is jealous for us.

I'll admit that I did not read all of the book because it read like a novel with so much fiction. Even though a lot of scripture references were used, it is not what I was expecting. I will probably donate it hoping it will be the "just right book" for someone.

I had no idea who Thom Gardner was before picking up this book. I've read several books like this recently and was pretty disappointed with most of them. This book however was different. I found this book to be incredibly insightful, convicting and helpful.

This book deals with a variety of issues including rejection, worthlessness, fear, shame and others. First, it tells the story of a Biblical character who experienced this barrier.

Then Thom exposes the lie underlying each barrier. Then he gives an emotional profile of each. Then, carefully each lie is refuted with biblical truth. This book will open your eyes and help you take a good look at yourself. This book will be life-changing. I know it definitely was for me. I still have a long ways to go in the healing process, but I feel this book has helped me take a giant step forward. This is a book to read, ponder, re-read and ponder some more. This book is practical and offers no quick fix.

There is also an excellent resource in the back for dealing with painful memories. I haven't done it with all the barriers yet, but I have done a couple and I can tell you, this technique works. I also like that this book avoids the psychobabble and self-help philosophy so common in books on healing, even Christian books. This book is soundly and solidly biblical.

If you are in need of spiritual and emotional healing and long to have a deeper, more intimate relationship with God, do yourself a favor. Buy a copy of this book. You won't be sorry. I highly recommend this book. It is one of the best I've ever read on the subject of emotional and spiritual healing.

A different approach

I spent years reading self-help books and was able to get some benefit from them, but Gardner's book approaches the subject of healing the wounds within us from a different angle. He goes to the core of the issue - not the addiction, not your present life problem, but the lies and wounds that have been obstacles in your life. He leads you back to pictures that you remember and then to God's presence which is where the real healing takes place. Gardner deals with 7 core obstacles: fear, rejection, worthlessness, shame, insecurity, defilement, and hopelessness. I also have the journal that he put together that takes you through a process that deals with these 7 core obstacles using scripture meditation. It's also a powerful resource that can be used alongside this book. I happened to meet the author recently and I was impressed with his sincerity and authenticity. I encourage you to read and use his resources. They are helping me on my journey to healing and wholeness!

Great Book. Highly Recommend It!

Although I have read many books concerning breaking curses, I have found this book to be the most comprehensive to date. The prayers at the end of the book can only be described as breakthrough prayers.

Unexpectedly interesting

My local bookstore featured this book as one of its monthly specials for $11.19.
Although I don't have an overwhelming interest in curses, I have noticed that a couple of my church friends have some trouble with "putting off the old man".
Chapter 3 presents the idea of a curse of illegitimacy, which was new to me.
The book is well written, but the subject matter is not really entertaining to me. If I was not born again I probably would have found reading this book to be pretty uncomfortable.
When I got to chapter 5, I began to understand that when it comes to the opportunity for curses and cults in this world, there is plenty to go around. And so that means that there is opportunity for the reader to be offended with what is mentioned in this book. Any young person you know got a tattoo or body piercing?
The last chapter is about breaking curses. The point is that one will generally be better without the curse; so break it!
At the end of the book there is a 40 page resources to break curses.

For those people out there who do not realize the gift that is theirs - only if they ask for it - this is a must read. Bob Larson does an excellent job in describing the principalities and powers of our everyday world and how to overcome them.

Antonio Baldovinos guides his reader on an exciting life changing spiritual journey in his book Relentless Pursuit - Awakening Hearts to Burn for Him. He shares glimpses into his life story, his calling, and his destiny. It is his prayer that as you read the book your heart will be awakened and ignited with passion as you realize God is pursuing you, desirous of your wholehearted response to the reality of His relentless pursuit and fervent love.

The pages are filled with profound quotes and references from dozens of highly respected contemporary and classic writers on the subjects of pursuing God, knowing Him and experiencing His presence. An eye opening must-read!

As I'm reading Relentless Pursuit I find myself being awakened to a new way of looking at my relationship with God. It's inspiring me to understand the fullness of how much God loves me, how much He's done and is doing in my life, and his ultimate desire for intimacy with me. It's also causing me to desire to serve and work, not from obligation but out of the best place - Love. Antonio writes from a place of authentic passion, indicating he's not just relaying accurate and helpful principles, but overflowing from his own intimate experiences with God. Any Christian, but especially leaders should be awakened by reading this book.

Kingdom

This book talks about how we all have a built in drive to rule and dominate, to exercise control over our circumstances and environment. God wants us to return to that place of dominion, our original human ancestors once enjoyed. We long to find what they lost.

Man was created to rule things; and not to pursue things. God's highest priority is restoring the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. We are to seek the Kingdom of God and to seek the righteousness of God.

As always Myles Munroe is excitingly thoughtful and ernestly instructive on Kingdom understandings. I have learned a great deal from this series of books on the Kingdom, and feel closer to Our Lord in a way I hadn't before. I do have a much better perspective of how to be a Kindom Kid in pratice and in deed. Get all: a great use of stewartship funds, read them and send them along.

I read this book and went on a fast for a week. I wrote down what I was fasting for and Prayed over the list. You would not believe the results!!! I am making it a habit to go on a Fast at least once a month and when the Lord leads. This book is a must read, because he tells you what he experienced because of Fasting. If you are like me, you want to know the truth and he tells the truth and uses scripture to back it up. If you want to go higher in God, purchase this book and start studying the scriptures on Fasting. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Powerful!

Some people talk about it and some people do it. This saying goes double for Mahesh Chavda. He practiced the art of Biblical prayer and fasting for over twenty years before he ever started teaching it. And this practice has born fruit in his life.

From the improved medical condition of an autistic boy when Chavda was a social worker to miraculous healings and transformed lives by the thousands-his personal experience demonstrates that prayer and fasting works: that God brings into partnership with Him those who join Him in this way.

Chavda teaches that the Bible is clear that the overcoming believer is one who both prays and fasts - yet fasting on anything resembling a regular basis has all but disappeared from most groups of believers. Chavda believes prayer and fasting is a lifestyle God dearly wants for all believers, and that it is one that God blesses. Those blessings do not necessarily flow to the person practicing prayer and fasting (God does not have a frequent prayer and fasting rewards program!), but rather unleashes God's blessings on those for whom we pray and fast.

This book is filled not only with dozens of real-life examples of the results of prayer and fasting, but also serves as a very practical guide of how to do it. This book is not a casual read. The reader will be challenged to look into the mirror of God's word and examine their own accountability for participating in this heavenly calling.

I have read alot of books on fasting from a theology view, but they lack practical hands knowledge. Mahesh gives a hands on approach to fasting like never before written in the Christian realm. Very balanced Biblical and strong in purpose this book has truly changed my life and view on fasting. Heaven is taking note of this book. If you feel called to the ministy and don't know or understand alot about fasting this is a must.

Kris Vallotton's book - THE SUPERNATURAL WAYS OF ROYALTY - is helping to transform the lives of many people in our area.
